About Us - Meet The Staff For over twenty two years, Susan Meisner creatively represented the book trade in Canada as Meisner Publicity and Promotion. In 2006, Debby de Groot left her position as Publicity and Marketing Director at Penguin Books (Canada) to form her own book publicity company, ddg Publicity and Marketing. The two companies operated in Toronto, collaborating and sharing information and resources, until December 2007, when they merged and re-formed as a powerhouse of promotion, publicity and marketing: MDG & Associates. At the end of March, 2009, Debby de Groot bought out Susan Meisner’s share of the corporation to enable Susan to focus on her 10 acres of pleasure gardens and tea room in Eastern Ontario, Spindletree Gardens. www.spindletree.ca. As Susan says: “I’ll miss the book biz but being ‘pasture-ized’ has its advantages. I can concentrate on this challenging ‘growing’ venture in the country with no regrets.
