Born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Jeanelle Mitchell’s dream of seeing the world was realized when she became a flight attendant. As she travelled the world and experienced the universal language of food, she began to collect recipes and experiment with the exotic ingredients she encountered on her travels.
Her first cookbook, For the Love of Soup, which she wrote to raise money for her handicapped nephew, was a bestseller, and continues to delight cooks across Canada. Now well into her second career as bestselling cookbook writer and recipe developer, Jeanelle divides her time between Northern Ontario and Toronto.
