Press Release

Kill Shakespeare
An epic new series that will change the way you
look at Shakespeare forever.

In this twelve-part comic book series, Shakespeare’s most famous heroes – led by Hamlet, Juliet, Othello, Falstaff, Romeo and Puck – are sent on a journey pitting them against his most menacing villains – led by Richard III, Lady MacBeth and Iago – in an epic adventure to find and kill a reclusive wizard named William Shakespeare.

Using the Bard’s greatest stories and characters, KILL SHAKESPEARE presents a youthful and edgy interpretation of Shakespeare, including modern language, unique character histories and dark, epic adventures. This series will appeal to those with little knowledge of Shakespeare while at the same time rewarding Shakespearean enthusiasts with clever inside references and loyalty to the Bard’s canon.

The debut of this series, on April 14th 2010, finds Hamlet on a quest to resurrect his Father. Here begins a mesmerizing tale full of action and adventure, love and romance, comedy and drama – an adventure of Shakespearean proportions.

KILL SHAKESPEARE is published by award-winning IDW Publishing (30 Days of Night, Star Trek, Transformers), one of the world’s largest comic book publishers. The first issue will be available in comic book stores across North America April 14th and iTunes April 20th.

Coming in November…the first KILL SHAKESPEARE graphic novel!
